SUEP’s album Forever is out 27th March, and it’s really one of the greatest albums I’ll have ever been part of releasing. It’s just full of concise, unfiltered, uncomplicated genius. Another taste is out today: Country SUEP - listen now!

The video comes with an incredible archive video from longtime collaborator Kit Harwood, who says:

“The “Country SUEP” video is a kind of family video made up of random bits of footage shot over the years I’ve known Josh, Georgie, and the band. The approach suggested itself after a weekend spent migrating my archive onto new hard drives, inevitably in the process getting sidetracked into reliving old memories. I knew the song and recognised the same bittersweet nostalgia I felt then. After suggesting the idea I edited the video very quickly in a process that felt like having my life flash before my eyes: long-forgotten parties and road trips, birthdays, New Year’s Eve and lockdowns, jams, rehearsals and gigs going back to when SUEP was just a twinkle in Georgie’s eye.

There can be a morbidness to home movies - a desire to hang on to the past not unlike having a beloved pet taxidermied. Josh Cohen (Memorials of Distinction Records boss, featured in the video twice in clips shot almost a decade apart) provided the helpful suggestion that events unfold in reverse chronological order, taking the sting of the inevitable out of it. It feels good to have taken this private footage and found a permanent home for it: a memento of friendship and joyful times spent together.”
